Operations Data Analyst

The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not be limited to:

• Support the Capital Operations teams by developing, improving, and maintaining reports, applications, and automations using Power BI, Power Automate, and the broader Power Platform.
• Work with team members to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and build solutions that address them.
• Build reports and dashboards that communicate information to internal stakeholders, support financial and capital analysis, and help track project efficiency and risk.
• Identify opportunities to optimize existing processes and apply technology where it makes sense.
• Collaborate with internal developers and data analysts to learn from and contribute to existing tools.
• Support data governance practices in partnership with the Tourmaline Information Technology Systems (ITS) data team.
• Other duties as required.

The successful candidate needs to have experience in the following areas in order to be qualified for this role:

• Bachelor of Engineering from an accredited institution and registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with APEGA.
• Experience building data models in Power BI and querying data with SQL, through coursework, internships, or projects.
• Experience with Python for data analysis.
• Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataflows), would be considered an asset.
• Previous oil and gas experience, or interest or coursework related to oil and gas.
